A New Beginning

The contents of the ASCD Curriculum Handbook—once reserved exclusively for subscribers—are now available online to all ASCD members.

For over a decade, the ASCD Curriculum Handbook provided in-depth examinations of the latest trends and techniques in curriculum research. Every major subject area—from visual and performing arts, family and consumer sciences, and health and physical education to mathematics, world languages, and social studies—was reviewed by state and district officials experienced in curriculum design and implementation. Often working in collaboration, Handbook authors compiled up-to-date information for readers and curriculum planners on the most effective methods for K-12 curriculum organization, renewal, and revision.

In 2005, ASCD elected to replace the Handbook with a new line of books, the Priorities in Practice series. The archives of the Handbook remain available by visiting Curriculum Handbook Archives (login required).
